Reign of the Judges (nov 15, 1490 BC – jun 9, 1206 BC)

Description:

The period of the Judges in Israel begins with the death of Joshua and Eleazar. While Joshua is referred to as a judge in the Bible, he is not counted in this period because he is the last of the generation that came out of Egypt.

This period ended with Saul being anointed King of Israel. The date for this can be calculated through various references in the Bible concerning the reigns of Saul, David, and Solomon.

The list of judges in the Book of Judges seems to be generally chronological, though there is clearly some overlapping. However, the last two chapters of the book do not seem to be chronological, but are rather events during the period, having no specific date.
