Description:
Jefferson persuaded Congress to have an expedition of the trans-Mississippi West by Captain Meriwether Lewis and Lieutenant William Clark. They mapped out and explored the region and made a lot of geographic and scientific discoveries. Their findings would lead into Manifest Destiny and westward espansion.Added to timeline:
