Dilaya attacks on the Assyrians (aug 7, 1920 – aug 16, 1920)
Description:
The Assyrians had a camp on the right bank of the Diyala River near the Baquba bridge and was inhabited by about 40,000 Assyrians with 10,000 Armenians . All of them had been displaced from the city of Urmia Iran during the First World War [104] . At the outbreak of the revolution in Diyala, the camp became the target of attacks by the rebellious tribes against the English and the camp became their target.
