Description:
Two men in 1931, (Clark & Vondelehr), started study to follow untreated African-American men to gather preliminary data. By 1932, the two men had their results and enrolled three hundred and ninety-nine men with syphilis. Men would be given periodic physical assessments, being told that that was the treatment. The goal was to see if there was a difference between black men and white men who had this disease.
