Explosion of Illegitimate Births (dec 31, 1750 – dec 31, 1850)
Description:
A sharp increase in couples out-of-wedlock giving birth to children between 1750 and 1850. As economic conditions transformed, men became less faithful to their marriages, sleeping with multiple women and having an unregulated amount of children. Increased cost in housing and food prices, coupled with the familial movement to cities were used as reasoning for these types of actions. As well as, it must be noted, younger people were having more and more sex as societal restraints were lessened.
