Apache Wars (jan 1, 1849 – jan 1, 1924)
Description:
A series of armed conflicts between the United States Army and various Apache nations fought heavily in the southwest between 1849 and 1886, though minor hostilities continued until as late as 1924. The conflicts for these wars were inherited from the Mexican-American War in 1846 and the US intrusion on traditional Apache lands. The US wanted to use the land to raise livestock, crops, and mine minerals.
