Description:
Hutu ethnic majority in the east-central African nation of Rwanda murdered as many as 800,000 people, mostly of the Tutsi minority. On April 6, 1994, a plane carrying Habyarimana and Burundi’s president Cyprien Ntaryamira was shot down over Kigali, leaving no survivors. The Rwandan armed forces set up roadblocks and barricades and began slaughtering Tutsis and moderate Hutus
