American Manufacturing Suffers (dec 24, 1814 – apr 27, 1816)

Description:

Between the Treaty of Ghent and the Tariff of 1816, America's manufacturing surplus drops. Following the Treaty of Ghent, British manufacturers began selling their products at such low prices that American manufacturers could no longer compete. This issue was resolved when the Tariff of 1816 was passed to protect American manufacturers from foreign competition.
