Ford Strike: Windsor (sep 12, 1945 – dec 9, 1945)
Description:
After Ford announced their intentions to lay off 1500 workers, the union decided to strike. Workers stayed off work without pay for 99 days, protesting the intended lay-offs and Ford wanting to lower wages and go backwards on worker's rights.
The union employed various tactics during this strike, including a three-day blockade made of workers' cars surrounding the plant.
