Stalingrad (aug 23, 1942 – feb 2, 1943)
Description:
This event was the largest confrontation of World War 2 in which Germany and its allies fought the Soviet Union for control of the city of Stalingrad in Southern Russia. This campaign was an important battle as it weakened the German forces. The battle ended with the Soviet Union winning and taking over the land of Stalingrad. It also resulted in the destruction of the German 6th Army.
