Battle Of Britain (jul 10, 1940 – oct 31, 1940)
Description:
The Battle of Britain was a significant event in World War Two. After Germany conquered most of Europe including France and Poland, the only major country left was Great Britain. Before Germany invades Britain, they had to destroy their formidable opponent, the Royal Air Force. In order to do this, they first started bombing the airport runways and radars. However, Britain fought back, which Hitler got frustrated at, which led to the bombing of large cities. As Germany bombed cities, the British Royal Air Force shot down numerous of German plane, resulting in German's loss. Although Hitler's troops had more planes and pilots, the radar that Britain possessed was an advantage. The Radar allowed the British to know when and where German planes were coming to attack, which gave them time to get their own planes in the air to help defend their territory.
