1950's (jul 8, 1950 – oct 5, 1960)
Description:
women's clothing had lost the rigid, tailored lines of the Edwardian period, and the styles of fashion's first great design genius, Paul Poiret, obliterated the need for tight-fitting corsets.
Men’s fashion included a suit and by 1940, women began wearing suits, as well.
fabric was rationed and used for military uniforms and equipment. Women’s skirts became slimmer and shorter due to the lack of fabric available.
