Space Race (oct 4, 1957 – jan 1, 1975)
Description:
The Space Race was one of the more minor things that the Cold War involved but it played a role in how the United States and the Soviet Union acted towards each other. The USSR launched the first satellite Sputnik on October 4th, 1957 which irritated the US. After this, the US launched its own satellite called Explorer I which was designed by the US army and launched a year later in 1958.Added to timeline:
