Antoine Lavoisier (jan 1, 1772 – dec 31, 1794)
Description:
Lavoisier came up with the Law of Conservation of Mass, which states that matter is not lost or destroyed in a chemical reaction but conserved. He also can be traced to the origin of stoichiometry when in his book he writes that water is about 85% oxygen and 15 % hydrogen by weight.
