Description:
- Women fashion did not change for the upper class much; however, the hairstyle was a pompadour. This was inspired by Madame de Pompadour.
- Men wore a suit coat and no longer wore the powdered wig.
- French commoner rebelled against the extravagance of the wealthy and began wearing loose, flowing muslin dresses based on classical Greek garments.
- Women began to carry purses and hair was worn in soft ringlets.
