Description:
In the following eight years of Oil exports, from 1948 to 1956, Jeddah experienced a remarkable growth rate. A large population increase characterized this period, supported byunrestrained investments in roads, installations and houses made possible by the first oil boom. During this period, the city grew by ten times its size, from 300 to 3,300 hectares.
