First Major Change of Old Jeddah (jan 1, 1950 – jan 1, 1970)

Description:

Physical landscape of the site has drastically changed with the reclamation of large stretches
of land and the construction of the Islamic Port.
A large number of heritage buildings of the old city were razed and replaced by contemporary structures, while the remaining traditional houses were neglected and began
an accelerated process of decay.
