Berlin Blockade (jun 24, 1948 – may 12, 1949)
Description:
One of the first major events of the Cold War. Since Berlin was in the USSR's part of Germany, they stopped the railways and blocked the canals that bring food and supplies to people in western Berlin and stopped letting them travel over the border. The US had to instil an airlift and get food and much needed supplies over to western Berlin.Added to timeline:
