Description:
World War I began on July 28, 1914 and ended in November 11, 1928. It occurred after Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated. Germany, the Ottoman Empire, Austria-Hungary, and Bulgaria fought against Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan, France, Britain and the United States. The war included trench warfare as well as chemical warfare which ended in horrific effects on soldiers who survived. The war ended with the Treaty of Versailles in which leaders from the Allies worked to achieve a treaty to prevent such conflicts happening again.
