English Civil War (oct 31, 1642 – nov 24, 1651)
Description:
The English Civil War was the first time that a monarchs power was challenged. The conflict stemmed from parliament attempting to limit the power of he monarch. King CHarles ended up loosing hte war and was beheaded. This was also the first time a king had been put on trial. This war and the fate of King Charles showed the beggining of Englands transtion away from absolute monarchy.
