War of 1812 (jun 18, 1812 – feb 17, 1815)
Description:
Britain invades America in 1812. A lot of historians consider this the real end of the American Revolution and that America will be able to live on their own. We can make it by ourselves.
In the War of 1812, Britain will attack us on numerous fronts. They fought in DC and Baltimore. They will attack us from Canada, New Orleans, Chesapeake… they will attack in every direction that they can.
Can the military survive? Can we stand up to foreign aggressors? Can we handle it? Can we protect our borders?
The British will burn the White House down. They will invade DC.
Dolly Madison is the first lady at the time. She saves the portrait of George Washington (she actually made the slave take it, Dolly saved a portrait of herself). At that time, according to historians, a hurricane hit and so did a tornado. America was saved by a tornado.
The siege of Baltimore is where we get Francis Scott Key writing the “Star Spangled Banner”. He is in Baltimore at the time and was watching it.
IT IS ABOUT THE WAR OF 1812, NOT THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION!!!
