Nicolaus Copernicus (feb 3, 1473 – may 24, 1534)
Description:
A Renaissance-era mathematician and astronomer. He thought that the Sun was the center of the universe and created a model. Publication of the model in his book, De revolutionibus orbium coelestium, was a major event in history.
