Council of Trent (apr 8, 1545 – sep 3, 1563)
Description:
Council of the Catholic Church. Prompted by the Protestant Reformation, it has been described as the embodiment of the Counter-Reformation. Their goals were to basically fix everything wrong that the church had been doing and then also fix all of their issues with the rising Protestant churches. It was effective in dealing with some of the issues with what the catholic curch had done, but wasn't effective when it came to figuring everything out with the Protestant churches.
