Copernicus, Nicolaus (may 16, 1473 – mar 3, 1543)
Description:
Copernicus was one of the most known natural philosophers during the Scientific Revolution. He was one of the first to contradict the Ptolemaic idea of the geocentric theory with his concept of heliocentrism. His book - nicknamed "De Rev"- was published a few months before his death (1543) because he was afraid of the repercussions that would occur should he go against the Catholic Church.
