Petrarch (jun 10, 1304 – aug 1, 1374)
Description:
Petrarch was considered the "Father of Humanism" as he revitalized the study of classical writers such as Cicero and Plato. He was also seen as the first "modern" writer because he wrote literature in Latin and Italian to ponder the human condition. Petrarch started a movement that looked into the characteristics and values of human beings and spread his views through his written works, which is why he fits in the SP theme.
