Description:
Copernicus was a Polish astronomer who popularized the heliocentric theory, including how the earth revolves around the sun, as well as the earth rotating on its axis. Through these beliefs which he backed with evidence, he caused people to speculate about the formerly accepted theory's of Ptolemy and Aristotle. His work was a large part of all the advances in astronomy relating to the scientific revolution, and therefore he is categorized under OS.Added to timeline:
