Louis XIII and Cardinal Richelieu (jan 1, 1624 – jan 1, 1642)

Description:

Cardinal Richelieu was serving as King Louis XIII’s right-hand man of sorts. Louis was a lazy king and sought Richelieu's consult on almost everything. Cardinal Richelieu’s policy involved two primary goals: centralization of power in France and opposition to the Habsburg dynasty. In the end he made France a strong, centeralized state.
