Baldassare Castiglione (aug 23, 1478 – oct 16, 1529)
Description:
Castiglione wrote a manual on manners for the modern gentleman called The Book of the Courtier. He was a leading Italian Humanist during the Renaissance era and emphasized the values one must have to be deemed an ideal Renaissance man. He fits with the OS theme because he spread his ideas of etiquette through his book, which became popular amongst the Italians.
