Council of Trent (sep 14, 1545 – apr 20, 1563)
Description:
SP- This was also known as the "Counter-Reformation" to the Protestant Reformation, as it was prompted by the Protestant Reformation. It is significant because it truly marked the division of the Catholic and Protestant religions, as they could not compromise any of their beliefs to become one religion. This was involing an institution of power because the catholic church, a large force of power in Europe at the time, is going through a small reformation.
