Description:
The American Revolution was the colonial revolt against Great Britain that occurred in 1775-1783. With the colonists being taxed heavily and having no representation in their government by the British, they sought to be free of the British control and formed their own independent nation. On September 3, 1783 Great Britain signed the Treaty of Paris which recognized the United States as an independent nation.Added to timeline:
