Description:
Louis XIII was the king of France from 1610 to 1643. He rules closely with his chief minister, Cardinal de Richelieu, to make France a leading European power. Both advocated to consolidate royal power and eliminate domestic factions. By limiting the power of the nobility, he transformed France into a strong, centralized state.
