English Civil War (oct 13, 1642 – aug 5, 1651)
Description:
This was a series a wars between Charles I, who was the King of England at the time, and Parliament. Charles I was an activist of the theory of Divine Right of Kings, which many disagreed with, leading to tensions, that were part of the cause. Charles I also was a Catholic, which at the time, England was moving away from Catholicism which caused issues with the church and state. Thus, leading to years of war and eventually the execution on Charles I.
