Description:
The English Civil War occurred under the rule of Charles I. It stemmed from tensions between parliament and Charles, as well as religious tensions (Book of Common Prayer) in Ireland. The English were also upset with the financial difficulties (which is why ship money was imposed). The war ended with the beheading of Charles.Added to timeline:
