English Civil War (aug 22, 1642 – sep 3, 1651)
Description:
The English Civil War was between supporters of the monarchy of Charles I (and later his son Charles II) and opposing groups in England, Scotland, and Ireland. They happened because Charles I refused to agree with Parliament and he refused to accept their policies and their laws. This caused major distrust between the monarchy and Parliament and decreased the monarch's power.
