Italian War (French Invasion) (may 16, 1494 – may 9, 1498)

Description:

It was series of violent battles for control of Italy. France and Spain were the main fighters but involving much of Europe. They resulted in the Spanish Hapsburg dominating Italy and shifted power from Italy to northwestern Europe. The war began with the invasion of Italy by the French king Charles VIII in 1494. France gave up all claims to Italy in the Treaty of Cambrai and the war ended by the Peace of Cateau-Cambrésis.
It's apart of SIP because France gave up its power to Italy, making Spain and Italy larger and more powerful.
