Louis XIII and Cardinal Richelieu (jul 12, 1612 – jul 12, 1642)

Description:

Louis XIII was very young ( 9 years old) when he was succeeded to the throne, so his mother appointed Cardinal Richelieu as minister( States and other Institutions of power), but he really had all of the power. He was a major catholic leader whose main goals were to weaken the Habsburgs,and the French nobility by doubling taxes and taking France to the Thirty Years' War. He had a very successful "reign" because he achieved his primary goal which was to strength France.
