English Civil War (jul 23, 1642 – aug 16, 1651)
Description:
The English Civil War was a debate between Parliament and the royalists over how the government should be run. Parliament was against the crown and had to ideas of how the King was no longer "divine". It resulted in a Parliamentarian victory and execution of King Charles I. Also, the republican Commonwealth under Oliver Cromwell was established.
