Castiglione, Baldassare (dec 6, 1478 – feb 2, 1529)
Description:
Castiglione was an Italian author that believed there were certain ideals that were expected of the noble or aristocrat. These came to be expressed in his book The Book of Courtier. Castiglione's work soon became popular throughout Europe and remained a fundamental handbook causing an intellectual change in people's opinion on the court and its behavior. The book shifted people's intentions and set an expectation for how the government should handle a country or city.
