The 30 Years War was an extremely destructive war between the Protestants and Roman Catholics in Germany that formed the Austrian Habsburgs and the German princes. The war led to a struggle over the balance of power in Europe. This resulted in the destruction of the Holy Roman Empire, removing its influence in Europe.
