The Great Awakening (dec 31, 1730 – sep 6, 1770)

Description:

The Great Awakening was where the colonist became super religious. Is when traveling ministers from Europe go to the colonies and their religions but it also caused problems. But the great awaking encouraged the ides of equality and the importance of the individual. One philosopher named John Locke believed that we were born with natural rights and those rights are life, liberty, and property. He also believed that if the government can not protect those rights then the people can over come the government if they want to.
