Louis XIII and Cardrial Richelieu (nov 11, 1601 – apr 23, 1643)
Louis XIII was King of France from 1610-1643 and King of Navarre from 1610-1620, with Cardinal Richelieu as his first minister who worked to create royal power/ demolish land-owning factions by restraining the power of the nobility, transforming France into a strong, centralized state. With this restraining came an economic change of the financial state of the country, which led to debt due to the costly war related expenditures, spiraling France into cycle of arrears connecting it to the AP theme (PP).
