Copernicus, Nicolas (mar 1, 1473 – mar 25, 1543)
Description:
Copernicus was a Polish astronomer and mathematician who was the first to argue against the widely regarded geocentric system of the universe, with his contrasting heliocentric system (sun-centered). By using data from previous astronomers to correct and form his own analysis, Copernicus was able to form an innovative concept that would spark a change in philosophy and the relationship of religion and science, connecting him back the the AP theme (OS).
