o They went to kill Thomas instead

o They wanted to be granted the heads lords and bishops
o The king told them to all go home and that he would dismiss their anger

o Commoners cut off many peoples heads and put them on poles
o The king’s household stabbed Watt Tyler and the Mayor beheaded him, so the commoners fell to the ground imploring the king for mercy
o To which the king did and told them to go home and chaperoned them home without harm
