Apartheid Beginning & End (jan 1, 1948 – apr 27, 1994)

Description:

BEGINNING: Apartheid is the legal separation different races. It was the law of the Union of South Africa made sometime around 1948. The country had a complicated system of racial identification. which classified citizens as Asian, black, colored, or white.
END: F.W. de Klerk, South African president, offered an opportunity for change for apartheid, though he did not end it alone. As his presidency came to an end, he ended apartheid with the help of Nelson Mandela.
