American Revolutionary War (apr 19, 1775 – sep 3, 1783)

Description:

The American Revolution was a colonial uprising that took place between the years 1775 and 1783. The American society split into two group called the Loyalists and Patriots. The Loyalists were loyal to Britain and the Patriots went against Britain like many of the colonists. It is estimated that 20-30% of Americans were Loyalists, 40-50% were Patriots, and the rest were unbiased. The American Patriots in the Thirteen Colonies won independence from Great Britain, after fighting for almost a decade with the commander being George Washington, and became what is now known as the United States of America. The colonists had alliances such as France that fought alongside them during the Revolutionary war against Great Britain. The Treaty of Paris ended the Revolutionary War with its six conditions.
