The Roman Catholic Church's response to the reformation that was assembled by Pope Paul III. Said that man is saved by faith and good deeds which will help achieve salvation, established a supremacy of the papacy, criticized the protestant doctrine of justification by faith, rejected the protestant view of scripture, and wanted to clarify catholic teaching to meet the protestant oppositions
