Emmett Till (jul 25, 1941 – aug 28, 1955)
Description:
Emmett Till was from Chicago and was visiting family in Mississippi. When he was there, he was accused of whistling at a white woman (later confirmed that he did not). The woman's husband tracked down Till and took him, beat him, and killed him. They were ruled "innocent" and then went on to tell Time Magazine about all of the horrible things they did to Till, knowing they could not get in trouble for the crime.
