The Battle of Iwo Jima (feb 19, 1945 – mar 26, 1945)
Description:
In this battle, the enemies were extremely weak, so defeating them was an easier task for the Allies. More than 6,800 marines were killed during the taking of this island. The use of flamethrowers and explosives took out Japanese bunkers. Firebombing was another tactic used in this battle; bombs were filled with napalm and started many conflagrations.
