Late Devonian Extinction (mar 4, 438999999 BC – jul 1, 360000000 BC)
Description:
Estimates propose that around 75% of species were lost. Trilobites, which survived the Ordovician-Silurian due to their hard exoskeletons, were nearly exterminated during this extinction. The nutrient rich waters resulted in mass amounts of algal blooms which depleted the seas of oxygen and therefore, animal life.
