The Townshend Acts (jul 18, 1767 – may 4, 1768)
Description:
The Townshend Acts were a series of laws passed by King George III and parliament from 1767 to 1768. These laws setting new taxes on paper, paint, lead, glass, and tea. It made a tax collecting building, Set up courts to deal with smugglers, and gave soldiers the right to search houses and businesses without permission.
